You'd be forgiven for thinking "cat grass" is a single type of grass. We see "cat grass" kits in pet stores all the time but, very rarely {if ever} do they make any visible mention of what type of grass the kit actually contains. Just like catnip, "cat grass" is a genre used to describe several different types of grass our felines like to nibble, & without the possibility of contamination from toxic pesticides; "cat grass" is any grass grown specifically for our curious little lions.
There are 𝟰 main types of cat grass
{& 𝑦𝑜𝑢 𝑘𝑛𝑜𝑤 𝑡ℎ𝑒𝑚!};
{Hordeum Vulgar} – Barley
{Dactylis Glomerata} – Orchard grass
{Triticum Aestivum} – Wheatgrass
{Avena Sativa} – Oat
Before you begin growing, you’ll want to make sure the container is steady & topple-proof. You may also want to consider placing multiple containers around your feline’s living area.
Now for the planting process!
1 🌱 Sprinkle a generous handful of seeds over the top of your potting mix.
✩ Finish with a light layer of soil on top & with the palm of your hand, gently press down.
2 🌱 Using a spray bottle of water, spritz generously & place on a sunny window cill.

✫ From Winter/Spring you'll want to place in a room with plenty of direct sunlight.
✫ Throughout summer, place in a room with plenty of indirect sunlight.
3 🌱 Spritz every morning & evening to encourage germination {you’ll begin to see growth within a week}.
✫ Place your pot of grass in a more accessible location once it grows 3-4 inches in height.
✫ Keep up the spritzing to add hydration to your kitty's cheeky nibble.
That’s literally all there is to it!
