Our Response to COVID-19

March 14th 2020

Hello, lovelies! It's your Bird here @ THE WINGLESS BIRD.

If you are self-isolating due to Covid-19 & are in need of support, please do not hesitate to reach out to me via email or text/whatsapp; I value each & every one of you, just as much as your felines, & will always be happy to help in any way that I can. This could be picking up shopping for either you or your little lions & delivering urgent supplies.

In the case of delivering urgent supplies, this would not be counted

as a service, but rather a kindness, & would only require the

reimbursement of said supplies.

April 27th 2020

As businesses in East Dulwich, & all across London, begin to reopen to the public, THE WINGLESS BIRD is committed to doing so as safely & responsibly as possible. The ways in which we interact with one another & our clients has significantly changed due to the COVID-19 pandemic. As a result, certain policies & procedures have been modified, & new requirements introduced, to ensure we are adhering to health & safety guidelines & complying with local law.

Hygiene & cleanliness is pristine, as usual, with the addition of

masks & gloves as & when necessary.

At this time THE WINGLESS BIRD is going cashless & will only be

accepting online payments for pre/booked cat sitting

{or as above, reimbursement}.

20% discount for NHS workers up until 2021

{10% discount for NHS workers will be fixed hereafter}.

If you have any pre-bookings with me & have yet to make a

cancellation due to a change in plans, please do keep me updated.

As always, there is never a cancellation fee.

My trip has been cancelled due to Covid-19, how do I cancel my booking?

Please email or text 07715288964. As always, there is never a cancellation fee.

Is The Wingless Bird in service & can I make a booking?

The Wingless Bird has been working within its right to continue as an essential service for the health & general wellbeing of animals. However, in an effort to protect my clients, community, friends & family, service has been limited to emergency cases ie. - abroad during lockdown - hospitalised owners - & key NHS workers who may be unable to provide the very bare essentials for their pets. If you believe your situation to be an emergency, live within the catchment of my pet sitting services {East Dulwich SE22, Dulwich Village SE21} for cats &/or small animals, please do not hesitate to reach out to me.

Can my cat catch & transmit Covid-19?

The good news is, current advice provided by the WHO & BVA suggests there is no evidence that pets can be a source of infection or become sick from Covid-19. The Wingless Bird uses the most reliable sources & I encourage feline lovers to do the same by following the World Health Organisation, Centers for Disease Control & Prevention, & the British Veterinary Association. Can I still contact The Wingless Bird for helpful advice & support from home?

Absolutely! Please know that, in spite of these current events, I remain dedicated to helping you however I can. Whether you have questions concerning your little lion's health, wellbeing & dietary needs, a change in routine or implementing one that helps you to work peacefully from home {& get the uninterrupted sleep you are desperately crying out for!}, looking for recommendations on cool new gadgets to keep them entertained, want to share their daily activities through pictures... or simply looking for someone to talk to, I am always here for you. Reach out to me via email, Direct Message me on Instagram or text me via whatsapp at any time, & I'll be sure to take part in any conversations you wish to have!

How can I support The Wingless Bird as a small, local & independant business?

Many local businesses are in a financial free fall due to the Covid-19 outbreak, & the professional pet sitting & dog walking industry is no exception. The Wingless Bird relies on clients who travel, as well as clients who don't work from home, within a small catchment from East Dulwich, London SE22. The travel bans & orders to work from home are affecting us greatly. While supporting many of the wonderful food-related local establishments that are working hard to service us, remaining compliant with the health & safety guidelines, please consider supporting us during these challenging times too. How can you help? Simply interract with me on my social media accounts by liking, following, subscribing, tagging your friends & sharing your experiences with The Wingless Bird! Leave a review on local East Dulwich Forums, Google, Facebook or by email, if you'd prefer to be featured on, in an Instagram post or story! Your kindness never goes unnoticed, as each action is rewarded with a £5 discount, for both regular clients & new!
