You'd be forgiven for thinking "cat grass" is a single type of grass. We see "cat grass" kits in pet stores all the time but, very rarely {if ever} do they make any visible mention of what type of grass the kit actually contains. Just like catnip, "cat grass" is a genre used to describe several different types of grass our felines like to nibble, & without the possibility of contamination from toxic pesticides; "cat grass" is any grass grown specifically for our curious little lions.
There are π° main types of cat grass
{& π¦ππ’ ππππ€ π‘βππ!};
{Hordeum Vulgar} β Barley
{Dactylis Glomerata} β Orchard grass
{Triticum Aestivum} β Wheatgrass
{Avena Sativa} β Oat
Before you begin growing, youβll want to make sure the container is steady & topple-proof. You may also want to consider placing multiple containers around your felineβs living area.
Now for the planting process!
1 π± Sprinkle a generous handful of seeds over the top of your potting mix.
β© Finish with a light layer of soil on top & with the palm of your hand, gently press down.
2 π± Using a spray bottle of water, spritz generously & place on a sunny window cill.

β« From Winter/Spring you'll want to place in a room with plenty of direct sunlight.
β« Throughout summer, place in a room with plenty of indirect sunlight.
3 π± Spritz every morning & evening to encourage germination {youβll begin to see growth within a week}.
β« Place your pot of grass in a more accessible location once it grows 3-4 inches in height.
β« Keep up the spritzing to add hydration to your kitty's cheeky nibble.
Thatβs literally all there is to it!
